Healthy Milk from Happy Cows at Soapbox Science!

This Saturday 26th April, I will be joining a group of fabulous scientists in the inaugural Soapbox Science Ireland event. I’ll be talking about how we get ‘healthy milk from happy cows’!  This event is sure to be fun for all the family so come along to learn and be inspired.

Speakers will take to their soapboxes in the Front Square of Trinity College, Dublin (whatever the weather!) from 12-3pm and each speaker will present every hour for 15 minutes. Look out for exploding Martians, very long rubber gloves, witches capes and misbehaving brains! For more information on the speakers and their discussion topics visit the Soapbox Science Ireland webpage.

My research team is currently developing new methods for improved diagnosis and treatment of uterine diseases in postpartum dairy and beef cattle.  As part of this research, we have developed a short online survey for farmers, and one for vets in order to gain an understanding of the impact of uterine disease in the cattle industry.  We invite you to participate in this survey and, as a thank you, we are offering one lucky participant the chance to win a year’s digital subscription to the Irish Farmers Journal!
